2026 Ford Mustang GT / FX

Think of a teal car from the semi-recent past and the so-called "Fox Body" Mustang comes to mind. Seems it's come to Ford’s mind too. Witness the FX Package option on the 2026 Ford Mustang GT.

The third-generation Mustang was produced from 1979 through 1993, yet the only year a dedicated Teal paint was offered was in the final year (code RD).

1993 was a big year for blueish hues as Ford’s 13-color palette for the final-year Fox Body also included Bright Lapis (KF), Reef Blue (PD) and Bright Calypso Green (PM)… but we're here for Teal and only Teal.

One might go as far to state that a Teal Metallic 1993 Ford Mustang Cobra is peak Fox Body, and that may be correct – certainly, the braintrust at Ford is leaning into the nostalgic vibe with the upcoming FX Package for the 2026 Ford Mustang GT Premium.

Never mind that the paint is officially referred to as "Adriatic Blue Metallic" – it's Teal in everything but the name. Ford's hedging their bets just a bit, however, as tealophobic Mustang fans can also opt for Orange Fury Metallic Tricoat, a throwback tint lifted from the 2019 Mustang order sheet. (via Hemmings)
