See No Evil

Here's an email I received, supposedly from "Cabela’s Survey Dept.", informing me that this is Your Chance to Get a Free Yeti Outdoor Bundle... whatever that is.

My ignorance of Outdoor Bundles goes beyond whether they are from Yeti, or even if they're really and truly free – and it's not just me! At least, it's not just due to my ignorance. You see, I can't see the Yeti Outdoor Bundle I have a chance to win.

One might think this is just more amateurism on the part of scammers who want me to drool over the wonders of a Yeti Outdoor Bundle before clicking the link(s) to unlock my chance to win it... but no, they employ a more subtle technique.

First, they plant the thought of a Free Yeti Outdoor Bundle in my mind. Next, they don't show said Bundle, piquing my curiosity.

"If the image does not appear, click here to show it", they say, while also providing additional links "to see in your browser" and, quite forcefully, "Click Me!".

I can also "unsubscribe from all future emails" just by... yep, clicking here.

But guess what? ALL of the provided links go to the same address: bityl.co/SzKi

What and/or where that is, exactly, I don’t know – and no, I'm not about to click anything, anywhere to find out.

So, am I ready to take a chance on this mysterious – and invisible – Outdoor Bundle? The answer is NO... at least, not Yeti.
